Discovering Poetry
A collection of some of my first poems
I'm addicted to her don't know what I'm askin' for
Ridin' bareback on a dying horse until I find the climate warm
Broke a rubber ducky down the alley tryna score
Screenshots, old voice memos turn into a creeper's porn
Kaleidoscopic vision Jesus, what the hell I'm seein'?
You're busy? Okay, let me know before the reapin'
Blood seepin' from my favorite demon's teethin'
Believin' in government just a modern form of treason
Smoke some crack with hypochondriacs, have a laugh, crack my back with cracker jack then take a nap
Woke up inside this morning, once again a horror story, life is surely boring and my mother's surely mourning
I don't make good decisions so **** my own opinions, I might just be the villain but I hurt to keep from sinnin'

She brushes my soul with the smoothness of silk
She washes my chest and leaves her name stained
She protects me from the world, sheltered in her hands
This woman is teaching me, how to be a man

The deep blue sky reminds me of the nights with my head between your thighs.
The trees and I think about why the dead aren’t alive at night.
The light from the heavens and the life from your lips are the same.
Despite my misgivings, the grass and ants talk to me the same.
One hand showed me you.
The same hand who makes all things new.
The hand through which I grew.
The same hand that grows in you.
I find peace in the manner of All.
To all be one makes the universe feel much more small.
But not in size, you’d be surprised, of the infinite wonders around.
Small like a family, like in my dreams, me and you, settled down.
But for now I roam, hopeful from town to town.
Because the same hand that writes my story, is penning yours down.
I’ll see what’s in store for me and listen to the omens as I go.
I hope you do too! So we’re both sure to know,
We follow our path,
Provacatively and genuine, like our lives are a show.
A production.
An epic.
We’ll cheer each others growth.
I’ll send you my flowers everyday on the wind, blow a kiss back, I’ll feel it, I can.
We’ll know love forecer because love is just all,
This grand theater around us,
Through spring and though fall.

I feel her warmth from infinity
She shines with the power of the sun
But we do not know how stars feel
We can only witness their prophecy
Maybe stars are tired
Maybe stars are done
They burn
And burn
And burn
They burn for everyone to see
I wonder when the last time a star said
I should burn for me
